Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was in Chennai recently for a store launch said that Ajith deserved the success he has got. Ajith and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had been part of Mani Ratnam’s Kandukondein Kandukondein which released in 2000. The film was a hit with the audience and critics alike. Though Ajith and Aishwarya didn’t have many scenes together, Ash remembered Thala with lot of affection.
She said, “Ajith was always warm and professional. I am so happy with the success he has achieved. He deserves it.” She added that if she ever met him again, she would love to congratulate him. Kandukondein Kandukondein also had Mamootty, Tabu, Abbas along with the late Manivannan, the late Srividya and the late Raghuvaran. The film was directed by Rajiv Menon and has music by AR Rahman.
In the meantime, Aishwarya Rai is gearing up for her next film in Tamil with Mani Ratnam. The actress is said to be playing a character with shades of grey in the film.
