Meesapulimala Trek, Munnar
Meesapulimala is the third highest peak in the Western Ghats of Idukki district after Anamudi.
Start the experience by getting picked up from Chennai and transferring to Munnar. From here, you would enjoy a jeep ride to the Silent Valley, from where you will start the trek to reach the famous Rhodo Valley of Meesapulimalai. The trek goes up and down as you make your way through the forest to reach the Rhodo Valley. When the jeep trail starts, you arrive at Rhodo Valley, known so because of the amazing Rhododendron flowers that grow here.
There is a great chance of sighting wildlife including Nilgiri Thar, Sambar Deer, Wild Gaur, Wild Dogs and even the Sloth Bear. The duration totally depends on your physical fitness. It will take about 7 to 9 hours to complete the full route.
Dolphin’s Nose Trek, Kodaikanal
Located near Vattakanal, dolphin’s nose is a stunning landscape of the valleys and hills of the surrounding area. An even rock sticking out of the mountain, sitting above a deep gorge, with its shape much the same as that of the nose of a dolphin is situated at a height of 6600ft.
The summit offers an all-encompassing perspective of the area beneath and on sunny mornings, you may have the visibility to recognize the Periyakulam Town and in addition the Vaigai Lake. The trek isn’t an exceptionally strenuous one and you may also take a makeshift route to the little town of Vellagavi which is on the same track.
Kolli Hills Trek, Namakkal
Kolli Malai is a small mountain range located in central Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district of India and the mountains rise to 1300m in height. This wonderfully serene destination and the surrounding area are both revered and feared for their mystical powers and the allegations of Witchcraft being practiced here
The Kolli Hills trek route can be attempted from the Puliancholi Village and the relatively easy trail ends at the reputed Akash Ganga Waterfalls. A refreshing dip here is highly recommended to take away all of your worries. You can also explore a number of caves which lie hidden in the deep and eerily beautiful hills. The way to the top of the Kolli hills is also dotted with a number of temples and a combination of easy and rocky landscapes, which may require some bouldering skills.
Nilgiris Green Lake Trek
Located at an altitude of 7000ft, If you are a fitness enthusiast vacationing in Ooty; the Nilgiris Green Lake trek is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss out on. The Green Lake up in the Nilgiris is a feast for the eyes and the climb to this destination promises an uphill climb through dense mysterious forests and an excellent workout. Though it is an easy trek, it can take up to 8 hours to finish the trail.
