Hindi filmmaker and talk show host Karan Johar expressed his appreciation for south Indian films in a recent conversation with an English daily. He added that he loved Atlee’s ‘Bigil’ and further called the Tamil director a ‘magician of masala’.
The filmmaker added that he is up to date with South Indian films, adding that he has seen all of Atlee’s films, including Nayanthara-starrer ‘Raja Rani’, Vijay’s ‘Theri’ and ‘Mersal’. He further said that he loved the way Atlee handles the masala factor in films. Atlee, later thanked the Hindi filmmaker in a tweet. “Thank you sir, lots of love,” he said in a tweet.
Karan also expressed his admiration for Vetri Maaran’s ‘Asuran’, adding that Dhanush was superb in the film. Written and directed by Atlee, ‘Bigil’ tells the story of Vijay’s football coach who trains a women’s football coach in Tamil Nadu. The film also co-stars Nayanthara, Kathir, Jackie Shroff and Yogi Babu, among others.
