Chennai, Feb 1:
Chief Minister Edapadi Palaniswami appreciated police personnel and said the state had attracted investment of more than Rs 3 lakh crore in the recently conducted Global Investors Meet (GIM) primarily due to the factor that law and order situation is the best in the country.Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami presented President medals and Chief Minister’s medals for gallantry and extraordinary service to 3000 police personnel at the function held at Rajarathnam Stadium.
The state government announced police medals for 3,000 policemen. The number of medals was increased from 1,500 to 3,000 in the Budget, 2018, and as assured, the increased number of medals was presented.
Palaniswami said, “The state government allotted Rs 10 crore for wellbeing project and Tamil Nadu is the only state conducting such a programme for policemen.”He also said that police job is for the society and people who come to register a complaint should be treated with care and their grouses should be listened properly.
