Chennai, Sept 30:
Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy today laid the foundation for constructing a modern complex to house Tirupattur Collectorate in Tirupattur which was bifurcated from Vellore to form as 36th district of Tamil Nadu.
In his Independence Day address Palanisamy had accepted the requests from ministers,MLAs and public for administrative convenience Vellore district was bifurcated as Tirupattur and Ranipet districts were formed.
Vellore will be the district head quater for Ranipet and Tirupattur town will be the HQ for Tirupattur district.
The Chief Minister today laid the foundation stone for the collectorate complex planned in a 27,376 sq m area in a seven-storeyed building which will come up in Tirupattur town.
The new premises will house the office buildings of the Revenue Department, Public Works Department, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Treasury, Cooperatives, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Backward Classes, Extremely Backward and Minority Welfare Department.
Minister of Revenue RB Udaya Kumar, Minister of Commerce K.C. Veeramani, Labor Welfare Minister Dr. Dr Nilofer kafeel, Chief Secretary K. Shanmugam, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management Athulya Misra, Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Additional Chief Secretary Phanindra Reddy and senior government officials participated in the event coducted thru video conferencing today.
