Anu Hasan is known for quite a few avatars. She is an actress, a television presenter and an entrepreneur. But in her latest gig, she gives audiences a glimpse into her gourmet-loving side. While people look at food either as an art or science, Anu prefers to look at it through the prism of love. This is exactly what she does in her new 12-episode series, where she whips up easy recipes.
“When I was approached to present Get Set Cook, my face brightened because I love food. We want to show people that cooking is not time-consuming. Regardless of what you believe, there needs to be joy in cooking. Like they say in the west, the most important ingredient is the ingredient of the top shelf, which is love,” the actress says adding that she would be introducing audiences to comfort food with a lot of insight.
Every recipe will be accompanied by a fond memory or a warm anecdote related to food. Among the recipes that Anu would be making are Malabar Prawn Curry, Mutton Chukka, Bisi Bele Bath and smoothies. Her worldliness and love for cooking made her a great fit to cook in front of the screen, she says. “I am not a MasterChef, but I am a happy chef. Childhood is always associated with memories. I wanted to bring in a few snappy, easy titbits to make cooking even more interesting,” the actress says.
