Bengaluru, Feb 1:
An Indian Air Force Mirgage 2000 aircraft crashed at the HAL airport, here, today killing a pilot on the spot and another one on way to hospital.
The pilots have been identified as Squadron Leader Siddharth Negi and Sq Leader Abrol.N
One of the bodies of the pilot was completely charred in the incident, said an police official. According to the officials the incident took place around 10.30 am today during a sortie.
The plane went up in flames as it crashed with an explosion and thick smile billowed from the spot, leaving passersby and residents living around the airport in a shock.
Investigation into the cause of the accidents has been ordered, an HAL official said.
