Several celebrities have come forward to donate to Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), Nadigar Sangam and other film industry bodies to help them support daily-wage workers who are associated with the film industry during the lockdown. The latest one to join the list is Kangana Ranaut, who has contributed to both FEFSI and the team of director Vijay’s Thalaivi, in which she is playing the lead.
A source says, “Since the outbreak of coronavirus, all film-related work had been halted and this has affected daily-wage workers who were dependent on the film industry. Kangana, who was working on Thalaivi, a biopic on former actress and late CM of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, has come forward to donate to FEFSI. She has come forward to donate Rs 5 lakh towards FEFSI’s COVID -19 Relief Funds, and another Rs 5 lakh for the daily wage workers of her film Thalaivi.”
Meanwhile, Kangana is spending the lockdown in her hometown, Manali, with her family.
