‘Matrix 4’ shoot on San Francisco streets

The ‘Matrix 4’ shoot has Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Annie Moss zooming around the San Francisco city streets. The two stars, who are reuniting for the fourth instalment of the franchise, were spotted by fans filming a high-octane action sequence on a motorbike.

Videos and photos doing the rounds on social media see the lead pair zooming around on a bike in what looks like a chase sequence. Fans even posted pictures of the team shooting with a helicopter flying between two buildings.

Since the announcement of the film going on floors, fans across the globe have been waiting in anticipation for ‘Matrix 4’. Directed by Lana Wachowski, the film will see Keanu and Carrie return as Neo and Trinity.

Wachowski’s script is being co-written by Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Though not willing to spill much about the movie, Reeves revealed in a recent interview that he had read the script and it was “very ambitious as it should be!” he said.

The films, the first one released in 1999 followed by ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ and ‘The Matrix Revolutions’, depicted a dystopian future where artificial beings have taken over humanity, which is unknowingly trapped inside a simulated reality, called the Matrix. The humans are being used as an energy source by these artificial beings. When a computer programmer Thomas Anderson, whose hacker alias is Neo, uncovers the truth, he joins others in a rebellion against the machines.

Reeves has been a major box office draw with the ‘John Wick’ franchise and in recent years has emerged as something of a pop culture phenomenon on social media.

Meanwhile, ‘Matrix’ had its 20th anniversary this year, marked by special screenings at select AMC locations starting on Aug. 30
