Chennai, Dec 12:
That’s the M-factor, keeping it short, sweet and simple. A passion that drives Nisha to deliver this art so professionally; Nisha has made it her commitment, to present concerts in sync with our December margazhi music season themes on ‘Tributes to Legends’. This year at the Trinity Arts Festival, on Tuesday, Nisha to commemorate the centenary of the late Carnatic Music Singer D.K.Pattammal, thrilled the audience with the Nan oru vilayattu bommaiyya, one of the renowned songs, that the Carnatic Musician, late D.K. Pattammal never missed to sing on stages for her rasikas. To add one more song to her concert list, she brought in Nenjukku neethiyum of Tamizh kavi Bharathiyar on his birthday. A bright start with Adi Thala Varnam and Vandeham jagat vallabham set the moods of the audience for the musical treat.
Saveri as the sub main with Sabesan sevadi and Ethavunara in Kalyani as the main were well-received by the rasikas. Five years of Nisha’s Trinity association has also witnessed her musical tributes to artists like Shri. Lalgudi Jayaraman, Shri. Mandolin U Srinivas, Smt. Ambujam Krishna to name a few. “It feels amazing to be a part of such a grand festival. And grander, to be singing memories of great musicians!”, says the young talent from Mumbai. Nisha is blessed with a mesmerising voice and an appealing stage presence. Ably accompanied by Shri. Prasad Mantraratnam on violin and Shri. Shreyas Sreekumar on mridangam, the trio left no stone unturned in reaching out to audience and ensuring an amazing musical experience! Wishing the team, the best, all that we would like to know – who are the musicians for next year’s tribute?
