The 50 th International Film Festival of India is all set to be held in Goa in November, and making it to its Indian Panorama Section is Parthiban’s Oththa Seruppu Size 7 and Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s House Owner.
An excited Parthiban tweeted, “#OS7 India thai uchi mugarndha oru mazhalaiay en a Oththa Seruppu. Thanks to the chairman & juries of INDIAN PANOAMA. Goa-vil kolakalamaga kondada pogum ippadathirkku nammooril kai thattuvade aananda perukku. Nandri – rasanai migundha rasigargal parattakuriya pathirikai oodaga nanbargalukku.” Even Lakshmy thanked the cine lovers and the press for celebrating her film.
Oththa Seruppu Size 7 features only one character, played by Parthiban himself, and released recently to much critical acclaim. The film also entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting and producing a film. The film premiered at the Singapore South Asian Film Festival. On the other hand, House Owner – which received a positive response from both the critics and audience – features Kishore, Sriranjini, Pasanga Kishore and Lovelyn in the lead, and is set against the Chennai floods of 2015.
