Salem, July 28:
Chief Minister Edapadi Palaniswami told newsmen today that government was ready to provide all medical assistance to ailing DMK leader Karunanidhi who is now undergoing treatment in Cauvery Hospital.
The Chief Minister said Karunanidhi is recovering from his ailment now and if help was sought government was ready to provide maximum medical assistance. So far no one has made such a request. He is now a legislator and a had been chief minister fro five times. Therefore government was ready to provide any medical help, he added.
Karunanidhi was readmitted to Cauvery Hospital last night after his BP fell suddenly and he is now in the ICU with medical experts monitoring his condition. Now his BP has stabilised, according to hospital doctors.
Congress leaders Thirunavukarasar, Gulam Nabi Azad and Governor Banwarilal were among the visitors who called at the hospital and made enquires about Karunanidhi’s health.
When news men asked what are the new projects proposed to develop Salem, he said has become a fast growing city thanks to the visionary steps taken by late Jayalalithaa and she had allotted sufficient funds for its growth.On the basis of it some projects were being executed. Mulluvadi railway gate scheme was being executed. Work on a railway overbridge at Manalmedu was under way. Similarly work on bypass roads at Athur and Tharamangalam has been taken up, he added.
An expert committed was examining the problems in each districts and once it was submitted government will examine them for execution, he said.
