Shruti Haasan is one among those Kollywood celebs who made use of the lockdown time in the best way possible. She spent almost 100 days alone during the lockdown. Making music, whipping up her favourite dishes, playing with her pet cat – she never made it look like staying alone in an apartment all through the lockdown would be an arduous task. While she collaborated with her band in the UK and shared videos of cover songs with fans on social media, she made use of the lockdown time also to work on her song ‘Edge’. And today, she released the song. The song is written, composed and sung by the actress-turned-musician. The powerful lyrics is well complemented by piano chords and string backing.
In an earlier interview with us a few days ago, the actress had told us that ‘Edge’ came from her internal feeling. She had mentioned that the lockdown pushed her out of the comfort zone and that made her think of writing music in a different way. As she had rightly mentioned, the song is all about how we humans are taught the most important lessons in life when we are at the edge. Interestingly, Shruti herself shot the video of the whole song using two cameras and a lighting equipment.
With regards to her films, the actress will next be seen in ‘Laabam’ in Kollywood. The film also has Vijay Sethupathi and Kalaiyarasan playing important roles. Recently, it was reported that both Vijay Sethupathi and Kalaiyarasan have started dubbing their portions. The film is directed by SP Jananathan and has its music by Imman.
