Simbu aka STR has scores of fans who celebrate the actor irrespective of his films hit status. The latest is that his fans from Madurai, Madurai City STR Veriyargal, came up with a never before the idea to celebrate the actor’s 35th year in cinema.

They have come up with a huge 500-feet poster in the city to celebrate the 35th year of STR in Tamil cinema. They have decided to celebrate the actor now since Simbu started acting in movies in his father T Rajendhar’s Uravai Kaatha Kili as a one-year-old. The movie was released on July 18, 1984.

On the film front, Simbu is shooting for the Tamil remake of the Kannada super hit Mufti. In the movie, he plays a don with Gautham Karthik as an undercover cop. He is expected to start shooting for Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu with Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead.
