The final trailer of ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ is here, and it promises to be a befitting end to the epic saga spanning over 40 years. The emotion-packed trailer dropped early Tuesday morning and it offers an emotional rollercoaster ride for all fans.
Picking up from the events of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, Kylo Ren and Rey are seen prepped for one last battle in of epic proportions as the Resistance take on the First Order. Despite the glimpses of the many face-offs set to explode on the big screen, director J.J. Abrams promises a “meaningful” end.
Apart from the dramatic battle scenes, the trailer is also packed with emotional scenes that are sure to leave ardent fans teary-eyed. And if that’s didn’t leave you gutted, the dialogues summing up to a clear goodbye should do the trick.‘The Rise of Skywalker’ also sees the return of more classic characters, including Ian McDiarmid’s Palpatine (whose iconic laugh can be heard at the end of the first trailer) and Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian and Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016.
The footage showed a hug between Princess Leia, played by the late Fisher, and Rey (Daisy Ridley). Director Abrams said that in a ‘weird miracle,’ he was able to piece together unused footage from ‘Last Jedi’ to continue the beloved character’s story.
The goal was “to create something that gives a sense of surprise and thrill and heartbreak, and shock and awe, but also feeling like an inevitability,” the director was quoted saying at an event.
‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ is slated to release on December 20.
