Terrorism is Pakistan’s war strategy, India will respond accordingly: Modi

Gandhinagar May 27:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that Pakistan’s use of terrorism is not merely a proxy war but a calculated war strategy, and India will respond with the seriousness such aggression demands.

Speaking at a Gujarat government urban development programme, PM Modi referred to Operation Sindoor and underscored that terrorism emanating from Pakistan is a state-sponsored initiative, not an indirect conflict.

“We cannot call this a proxy war when those killed in our May 6 strikes on Pakistani terror camps were honoured with state funerals, draped in national flags, and saluted by their military,” Modi said.

“This is clear evidence that terrorism is being used as a deliberate war strategy by Pakistan. If they choose to engage in war, India will respond accordingly,” he declared.

The Prime Minister reminded the audience that in every direct military confrontation between India and Pakistan, India’s armed forces had emerged victorious.

“Pakistan has learned it cannot defeat India in a conventional war. So, it shifted its approach to proxy warfare, training and arming terrorists to destabilize us,” he explained.

Using a metaphor, Modi added, “No matter how strong or healthy the body is, even a single thorn can cause constant discomfort. We have decided to remove that thorn.”

Reflecting on historical context, Modi pointed out that the roots of terrorism go back to the Partition of India.

“The very night Mother India was partitioned, the first terror attack on Kashmir was launched by the Mujahideen,” he said, noting that a portion of Kashmir was seized with the help of these terrorists.

“Had the Mujahideen been neutralized that very day, and if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s counsel had been followed, this 75-year cycle of terrorism might have been averted,” Modi remarked.
