The Nadigar Sangam elections are never short on drama, and it looks like things are heating up just as the election day — June 23 — nears. As part of their campaign, Pandavar Ani, headed by Nasser, had come up with a video that details their entry and achievements, and this has angered Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has come down heavily on Vishal (contesting for the post of general secretary) for targeting her father, Sarath Kumar even though he is not involved in the elections this time.
In the video, a voice-over says that it will be hard to forget the period when both supporting artistes and theatre artistes had suffered due to the selfishness of certain people. Though it doesn’t name Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi, clippings of the two actors are shown in the video, with the latter saying, “We won’t be destroyed. We can’t be destroyed.” The voice-over then adds that even basic facilities like pension, insurance and trust in the office bearers to voice out their complaints were not present at that time. It also alleges that they had handed over the Nadigar Sangam land to corporates, and adds that it is in such circumstances that Pandavar Ani was formed.
