Vidya Vox has been quite an online sensation among music enthusiasts ever since she came out with her first mashup couple of years ago. Now, the singer, who is settled in the US, has now come out with her latest single – ‘Thalaivi’. As the title of the song suggests, it is dedicated to women. Sari-clad women dancing along with the singer herself in sync with the folksy beats and cool lyrics are seen in the single’s video. Reportedly, the video of the song was shot in different locations in Chennai before the lockdown.
After she released the video last week, on her social media page, she wrote, “Thalaivi means female leader – it was inspired by the Thalaivis in my life, my mom and grandma. To all the Thalaivis that are hustling and grinding, and doing it in style – this one is for you! (sic).” Now, the singer has shared a photo of her in her workspace, giving a sneak peek into how the video of the single was edited. “This is almost how I edited #Thalaivi, except it involved lot more pjs and chai. Shoutout to all the women producers, editors, musicians, and more – all the Thalaivis! Check out my new song “Thalaivi” if you haven’t already! (sic).”
