Actor-politician Vijayakant has reportedly been admitted in a private hospital in Chennai after showing symptoms of Covid-19 during a regular check up. Tamil film industry’s Captain has been battling his own health issues for the past few years.
The latest update is Vijayakant had gone to the hospital for his usual medical check up, where the actor had mild symptoms of Covid-19. He has been treated for that and is in good health reveals the press release from the actor’s political party. Watch this space for more updates.
It has to be remembered that Vijayakant was one of the first celebrities in the country to come forward and offer help to the government to battle the coronavirus when the pandemic struck, in March 2020. He had first requested the Government to make use of his Andal Alagar Engineering College and his party office in Koyambedu as hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients. He also asked his party workers to supply masks, gloves, and sanitisers to health workers, policemen and corporation staff.
Later, when there was an uproar over burying victims of COVID-19, he announced that families of such victims could use a portion of his college to bury their loved one. In fact, this humanitarian gesture came in for much praise, and even Tollywood superstar Pawan Kalyan had tweeted about it, appreciating Captain.
