Bee fly named after GoT villain!

The Night king of Game of Thrones has left a long lasting impression in the field of entomology… A new species of bee fly has been named after the villain of Game of Thrones, Paramonovuis Night king.

This bee fly (a fly that looks like a bee) dwells in a small area of Western Australia and is around a centimetre long.

This bee like the Night King survives only in winter and have a crown of thorn-like spines on their head, the female bee lay their eggs on other insects, which hatch and eat that insect from the inside out, turning them into walking zombies. Scientists believe that they have developed this way to avoid being eaten by birds, which know that bee stings.
