Joaquin Phoenix will soon be seen stepping into the shoes of iconic character Arthur Fleck popularly known as the Joker. The actor recently called it the greatest experience of his career at a film festival in Toronto.
The talented actor talked about his character and said, “I mean honestly, it wasn’t an easy decision at first. I didn’t know but then there was something that was drawing me toward it. It just evolved as we worked together. It started becoming something more than I anticipated. It was one of the greatest experiences of my career,” as reported by Variety.
After receiving good reviews at the 2019 Venice Film Festival, the film was premiered on Monday night at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival and Phoenix dedicated the accolades in his career to his late brother River Phoenix.
The report further stated that filmmaker Todd Philips, who is famous for making making ‘Hangover’ series to opened up about the film. “What’s great about Joker is that he’s an unreliable narrator and he has no origin story. We had a freedom. We picked from some of the comics. It was really liberating,” he said.Meanwhile, the film was also awarded the Golden Lion award at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and was highly appreciated by the audience as well as the critics.
