12 burnt to death in MP bus mishap

Guna, Dec 28:

At least 12 people were killed and 14 others sustained severe burn injuries as a bus caught fire after colliding with a dumper in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday night, an official said.

The private bus collided head-on with the dumper on Guna-Aaron road, the official said, adding that the injured were rushed to the Guna district hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the loss of life, ordered an inquiry and announced ex-gratia of Rs. 4 lakh each to the kin of bereaved families besides Rs. 50,000 to each of the grievously-hurt individual.

Some passengers scrambled out and saved themselves. The bus was reduced to a burnt-out shell. Locals participated in the rescue mission and rushed victims to the district hospital.
