BJP will fall on its false promises, Cong chief Kharge

Mumbai, Mar 18:

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday strongly criticised the ruling Narendra Modi Government, accusing it of misusing central agencies like Enforcement Directorate, Income-Tax, CBI to ruin the democracy in entire country.

Addressing public rally at Shivaji Park, Dadar in central Mumbai, he alleged that, “… They want to cancel reservation. Yeh Babasaheb Ambedkar ki bhi Karmabhumi Rahi, BJP-RSS people are demanding 400 seats in Parliament to change our constitution.” He claimed that on one hand, 12 accounts of the Congress party were sealed and Rs. 300 crore were confiscated while on other hand, BJP has illegally deposited more than Rs. 6,000 crore in its account.

“’Ye kaisa democracy hai’ (what sort of democracy is this)?” He questioned.

“’Apne suna to hoga 10 sal mein Modiji ko pelih bar ye desh apna parivar raha hai. But who is the real family of Modiji, it is known from the list of names of companies giving donations,” he said in a jibe.

“From Mumbai, I would like to say that the departure of the Modi Government is now fixed. Their hollow slogans are going to be the same as the slogans of ‘India Shining’ in 2003-04. After 20 years, history is repeating itself and this work will make our alliance strong,” the Congress chief noted.

He described Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as the only person in the country who has travelled the entire country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from Manipur to Mumbai, met people, listened to their problems and raised their issues.

“I want to say that Rahul ji, we are proud of you,” he said and thanked the friends of I.N.D.I.A. bloc for coming here to Mumbai for the rally despite their election programmes.

“Every citizen is proud of Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Mumbai is very special for Congress because our organisation was born here in 1885. In 1942, the Quit India Movement resolution was also passed here, which forced the colonial rulers to leave the country,” he said.

In both the yatras of Rahul Gandhi, along with the ideology of the Congress, the rights of the villagers, poor, farmers, labourers, dalits, tribals, women and youths were discussed, he said.

During the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, Rahul ji and the Congress party announced five justice guarantees at different places, in which farmers, youths, women, labourers and shareholdings are guaranteed justice, he informed.

“There are 5 x 5 guarantees in all these justices – in all, there are 25 guarantees, which we will fulfil when we form our Government,” Kharge informed.

Amog these guarantees are Rs. 8,500 per month to female head of a poor household, to carry out caste census. and the minimum wage for workers at Rs. 400, he added.
