Goa organises road shows across Europe


Goa, Mar 16:
At the initiative of Goa Tourism, Road Shows showcasing Goa and its rich heritage and culture, were
organized in Spain, Austria and Portugal. The events brought forth the idea of Goa and Goan culture in a
way that would interest the traveller, catering to various fields of their curiosity and interest.
The warmth of Goa and Goan hospitality was brought out through the informative presentation ‘Goa –the
beautiful Destination’. The programmes conveyed in detail the nuances of Regenerative Tourism and the
concept of Ekadasha Teertha Yatra were well enunciated throughout the events.
The upcoming exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier was also highlighted upon and people were
invited to visit Goa on the occasion. St Francis Xavier, a Spanish saint who walked the shores of Goa, is
held in great reverence by people of Spain and Portugal.
The events were also focussed on promoting Goa as the favourite destination to experience a holiday in
a home away from home. The occasions also served as an opportunity to recognize people from other
countries who value and promote Goan ethos and culture.
Dr Susana Sardo, a Portuguese researcher who is closely associated with endorsing Goan culture for
almost four decades; was felicitated by Director of Tourism, Government of Goa Suneel Anchipaka, IAS
in the auspicious presence of Asha Antony, IFS, First Secretary (Political, Commerce, Consular &
Culture) & Head of Chancery of the Indian Embassy in Portugal.
