India win Friendship Cricket Series vs Pak

Dubai, Feb 26:

Sunil Ramesh and Ajay Kumar Reddy smashed fifties as India men’s visually impaired cricket team defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the 3rd T20 to win the Friendship Cricket Series for the visually impaired here.

India won the series 2-1 here at ICC Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai. Pakistan had won the first match but India came in the series winning the second T20 on Friday.

For India, Sunil Ramesh (64) and Ajay Kumar (66) smashed fifties in the 3rd T20 while skipper T Durga Rao picked three wickets. Ajay Kumar Reddy was named as the Player of the Match. chased down the target with 8 balls to spare.

Opting to bat first, Pakistan suffered an early blow as skipper Badar Munir was dismissed in the very first over. Two subsequent partnerships revived Pakistan hopes and the side reached 124/3 in the 12 over.

Pakistan kept scoring at brisk rate and a late flourish ensured the side reached 193/9 in the allotted 20 overs. For Pakistan Muhammad Salman smashed 74 in 39 balls.

Chasing 194 in the series decided, Sunil and D Venkateswara Rao gave India a good start. Venkateswara departed in the 8th over after scoring 33 runs in 24 balls. But Sunil and Ajay stitched a match winning stand to take India home. India scored 196/2 in 18.4 overs.
