“KGF 3 will happen.” In an interview with Pinkvilla, Director Prashanth reassured fans of the franchise
that the project is very much on the cards, and they hadn’t announced the third part just for the sake of it.
He revealed that the script for the film is ready. However, the director joked that he might not return to
helm the project himself.
“I don’t know if I am the director or not, but Yash will always be a part of it… On a serious note, KGF 3
will happen and we didn’t announce it for the sake of it,” he told the website. The director added that
Yash is not someone who would make such claims for commercial gains. He added that they had locked
the script for the third part even before the announcement. KFG 2 ended with the Indian Navy bombing
the Rocky’s ship, along with all the gold he had accumulated. He was seen drowning in the ocean.
Prashanth is currently prepping for the release of Prabhas’ Salaar, which is speculated to be part of the
KGF universe. The filmmaker has said that Salaar is a standalone film, but that doesn’t seem to have
deterred fans from speculating about it. The trailer for Salaar was released recently, and the film is set to
be released on December 22. Prashanth will next team up with Telugu star Jr NTR, who is busy with
Devara currently. “That’s my next after Salaar, and we start shooting in the second half of 2024,” said the
director. He hinted that the film will not fit into one genre.
