Rlys introduces Vande Bharat Express from Chennai Central


Chennai, Dec 1:
Indian Railways has introduced another Vande Bharat Express Special train from Tamil Nadu’s Dr MGR
Chennai Central station. Launched in 2019, the semi-high-speed train has become increasingly popular
among commuters. With the introduction of this new train, the number of Vande Bharat Special trains has
now become five. These blue and white colour trains were introduced to cater the demand of passengers
during the festive season.
This Vande Bharat Special train will operate between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Mysuru Junction. It
will run as train number 06037 on Dr MGR Chennai Central-Mysore route and as train number 06038 on
Mysuru-Dr MGR Chennai Central route. The train will be maintained by Southern Railway (SR) zone.
The Dr MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru-Dr MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express Special train will
cover a distance of 500 km in six hours and 30 minutes. This is going to be the fastest train on the route
followed by Mysuru Express and Kaveri Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 09:15 hrs
and 09:25 hrs respectively.
During its journey between two stations, the Dr MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru-Dr MGR Chennai Central
Vande Bharat Express Special train will halt at two stations. These are – Katpadi and KSR Bengaluru
railway stations. The train will run as a Weekly Special train on the route. It will operate only on
Wednesdays. This new age train will be in service till December 27, 2023.
