Washington, Feb 14:
NASA and SpaceX are targeting February 28 as the earliest launch time for the forthcoming SpaceX Crew-8 mission to the International Space Station, the space agency said in a blog post on Tuesday.
“NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than 12:49 a.m. EST Wednesday, February 28, for the launch of the agency’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission to the International Space Station,” NASA said.
The launch date for Crew-8 was changed from February 22 in order to avoid operational conflicts with Intuitive Machines’ lunar lander mission, scheduled for February 14, NASA said.
NASA and SpaceX will evaluate Crew-8 readiness and may make further adjustments to the schedule if needed after the IM-1 launch, it added.
The Crew-8 team includes NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin.
Crew-8 will mark the eighth crew rotation mission with SpaceX to the ISS as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
