Sri Lanka’s ‘You will come back for more’ Campaign

Sri Lanka, Feb 15:
In a bid to position itself as the preferred choice for Indian tourists seeking serene island getaways, Sri
Lanka has unveiled a comprehensive plan to attract visitors ranging from families and couples to spiritual
seekers. After successfully surpassing Maldives in attracting Indian tourists, Sri Lanka is now eyeing a
significant surge in tourism in 2024.
Sri Lanka Tourism recently launched a global tourism campaign, “Sri Lanka: You will come back for
more,” targeting Indian tourists. The campaign was inaugurated in Mumbai by a Sri Lankan delegation,
including the tourism minister and consul general. The initiative aims to tap into the growing interest of
Indian tourists in coastal destinations amid the recent controversies with Maldives.
Sri Lanka has witnessed a remarkable 106 percent year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals, with around
9,000 tourists arriving daily. Notably, Indians constitute the largest portion of this influx. Riding on this
positive trend, Sri Lanka is gearing up for a stellar tourism performance in 2024.
While Sri Lanka has established itself as a preferred destination for family, couple, and spiritual tourism,
the country is now expanding its horizons. Sri Lanka aims to attract tourists for Meetings, Incentives,
Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) purposes.
