Hanuman, addressed the Vaanaraas, gathered himself and flew up with a lot of vigour and great speed easily. The great monkey thought of himself as equal to Garuda, the king of birds.

While he was flying up with all his force, many trees on that mountain appeared to fly along with him, drawing together all their branches.

The trees, thus being held aloft by the speed of Hanuman’s thighs, followed him for a while, just as relatives accompany their kith and kin on a long and arduous journey.

After that, huge trees sank into an ocean of salt water, like mountains sinking into the ocean due to fear of Indira’s thunderbolt.
