Triplicane Wallajah Big Mosque, an edifice for communal harmony

A true communal harmony can be witnessed in the historic Wallajah Big Mosque , situated in Triplicane.

The Prince of Arcot Endowments, which administers and manage several mosques in Chennai and elsewhere in the State of Tamil Nadu feed many people to break their fast, during the holy month of Ramzan for 30 days. In Wallajah Mosque almost 1500 people assembled to participate on the auspicious occasion, beside other mosques under the management of the Arcot Endowments.

It is really heartbreaking to note that since many decades now, the Sufidar Temple devotees and volunteers in the city also visit the Big mosque to distribute large number of snacks and beverages in large quantity every every day for one full month of Ramzan. A number of devotees distribute with reverence and sincere regards to the religion, Islam and witness the breaking of fast.

The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, who is the administrator of the Arcot Endowments, expressed his satisfaction and happiness to note a real communal amity exists since many decades now. He said in our secular country, India, should respect each other’s religion, since we one family of One supreme Creator and live like brothers and sisters since we are all the children of One God and show the world that we are all one family of One supreme Creator.
