Vaibhav wins Indian Idol-14 in style



Vaibhav Gupta emerged victorious in the 14th edition of the popular singing reality show, Indian Idol recently. He secured a substantial cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh, along with an exquisite trophy. Furthermore, he is set to make a grand entrance into his native town of Kanpur, driving a brand new Maruti Suzuki Brezza car.

In expressing his triumph, Vaibhav stated, “I am honored to be recognized as the winner of Indian Idol 14. The overwhelming support and love from the audience have been truly heartening. This achievement marks the beginning of my journey, and I aspire to venture into Bollywood. The moment Mahesh Bhatt applauded my performance was particularly special, and I often replay that cherished memory in my mind.”

Elaborating on his aspirations, Vaibhav shared, “My ambition now is to engage in playback singing for esteemed actors such as Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranveer Singh. I am committed to contributing to the revival of live music, especially the symphonic genre. The resurgence of the 90s musical era is evident, with a renewed focus on melody. I am keen on ushering in a new wave of musical expression.”

Hailing from Kanpur, Vaibhav had captivated audiences with his powerful performances during the auditions, earning accolades from prominent celebrity guests who graced the show.

Reflecting on his victory, Vaibhav expressed, “Lifting the ‘Indian Idol 14’ trophy is surreal. Upholding the legacy of this revered show is a tremendous privilege. This journey has been a thrilling rollercoaster, marked by diverse emotions, challenges, and unforgettable moments.”

He extended his gratitude, stating, “I am thankful to every individual who believed in me, be it the insightful judges or the exceptional team that nurtured my talent and transformed this dream into reality. Above all, my deepest appreciation goes to the incredible audience whose unwavering support fuelled my determination. Judge Shreya Ghoshal commended Vaibhav’s talents, remarking, “From the auditions onward, Vaibhav has displayed versatility, consistently surprising us with his performances. His journey on the show has been remarkable and inspiring. I genuinely wish him the very best, hoping he fulfills his dreams.”

Following Vaibhav, other winners included Subhadeep Das Chowdhury as the first runner-up, receiving a prize of Rs 5 lakh, Piyush Panwar as the second runner-up, awarded Rs. 3 lakh, and Ananya Pal as the third runner-up, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh.

Participants who did not secure a spot in the top four were Anjana Padmanabhan (5th), Adya Mishra (6th), Obom Tangu (7th), Dipan Mitra (8th), and Utkarsh Wankhede (9th).

The declaration of Vaibhav as the winner transformed his world, attracting attention and adulation. This significant achievement was a momentous moment for the Gupta family, who had fervently prayed for this outcome throughout the televised competition. The show’s grand finale, hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and judged by Vishal Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal and Kumar Sanu, featured a memorable celebration with the participation of renowned artists Sonu Nigam and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma.
