2000 to run for Kargil Victory silver jubilee fete

As many as 2,000 runners from around the world are likely to participate in Sarhad Shauryathon 2024, which is set to take place in Ladakh on June 30.

The NGO Sarhad Pune will organise this event in collaboration with Indian Army and Arham Foundation, Pune.

This marathon will mark the occasion of the Zojila War Victory Amrit Mahotsav and the Kargil War Victory Silver Jubilee year, said Dr Shailesh Pagariya, organiser of event, in a press conference here on Thursday.

The marathon will be conducted from Zojila War Memorial to Kargil War Memorial, Dras.

The marathon comprises several categories, including the 44 km Zojila War Victory Marathon for both men and women, 25 km Kargil Victory Run, 10 km and 7.5 km Tiger Hill Victory Run, and 4 km fitness run for men, women, school, and college students.

Cash prizes worth Rs four lakh will be distributed to the winners, he added
