Chennaiyin FC joins HCL’s CSR mission

Chennaiyin FC have announced its collaboration with HCLFoundation, which drives the corporate social responsibility agenda of global technology company HCL Tech in India, as the SocialCause Partner for the 10th season of Indian Super League (ISL).

ChennaiyinFC, a two-time ISL winner and HCLFoundation will work together tonurture football at the grassroot level and will use this sport toempower youth and community engagement.

Together, we aspire to create a legacy of sportsmanship andcommunity engagement that inspires generations to come,” said Dr NidhiPundhir, Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech and Director,HCLFoundation.

ChennaiyinFC offered 500 match tickets to students and youth of HCLFoundation’sSports For Change (SFC) initiative to attend the ISL game on Tuesday atthe Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, the club sources on Thursday said.

Additionally, 20 children fromHCLFoundation’s SFC program escorted the Chennaiyin FC ISL players intothe stadium ahead of the match. Select matches will also be livestreamed for students of Police Boys and Girls Clubs of Arumbakkam andKannaginagar, Chennai.

Chennaiyin FC players and staff memberswill join hands with HCLFoundation for a plantation activity at a Haritafforestation site, underscoring their commitment to environmentalsustainability. They will also visit Kannaginagar Police Boys and GirlsClub and interact with the Sports for Change students from Kannaginagarto motivate the students to pursue sports professionally.
