400 in fray for national Bridge championship

Kolkata, Apr 12:

Over 400 players, including almost all noted campaigners from different parts of India, will stake their claim for the top honours at the 7th All India Shree Cement Bridge Championship, which took off at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre here.

The four-day tournament is being organised by Corporate Bridge Association of India under the aegis of West Bengal Bridge Association, Bridge Federation of India ( BFI ), Secretary Debasish Ray informed.

The championship, one of the major tournaments of the mind game in the country, offers a total prize money of Rs 7 lakh beside ranking points.

The tournament includes team and pairs events where beside world cupers and Asiad medalists, top veteran players, both men and ladies, who have earned laurels from various international events will take part in this tournament.

Title holders in the team event “Formidables “from Delhi would be challenged by other strong contenders composed of India internationals and noted players of the country in this popular tournament.
