‘Idi Minnal Kadhal’ engaging entertainer

Director : Balaji Madhavan
Cast : Ciby, Bhuvana, Adhithya, Balaji Sakthivel, Radha Ravi, Yasmin Ponnappa
The story revolves around Aran (Ciby), whose life takes a tumultuous turn after a fatal accident involving
Hrithesh, an innocent pedestrian. As guilt consumes Aran, his girlfriend Janani (Bhavya Trikha) urges him
to conceal the truth to protect their future. She succeeds in dissuading Aran from confessing to the
crime with the support of a mechanic called Raja (Jagan).
Meanwhile, the son of the victim, Abhi, who has no one but his father to take care of him, anxiously
awaits his dad’s return.
The boy, who is scared for his father, looks for consolation from a neighbour called Anjali ( Yasmin
Ponnappa) , a sex worker by profession.
Eventually, Abhi gets to know from the cops that his dad has died in a hit and run accident and that they
do not know the identity of the perpetrator.
What Abhi does not know is that he is about to get into big trouble as his father Hrithesh had borrowed
money from a moneylender — a psychopath called Arul Pandian, who also shows tendencies of being a
peadophile.
With Hrithesh having passed away, young Abhi, with no one to defend him, has to deal with a ruthless
psychopath, who is most likely a paedophile. What happens next is what Idi Minnal Kadhal is all about.
The film has some good performances. J Adhithya, who plays the young boy Abhi, impresses as a
traumatised child who is unable to deal with the difficult circumstances that life repeatedly keeps forcing
him to face. Ciby comes up with a convincing performance. Bhavya Trikha whips up a fine performance
as Janani. Jagan delivers one of his career best performances
