Ticketless passengers occupy seats on train, Rlys reacts

Chennai, Mar 28:
A social media post by a person recently highlighted how overcrowding by ticketless passengers on a
sleeper coach of the Bhuj-Shalimar Express inconvenienced his journey. In the post on X, the user
shared his unpleasant experience on coach S5, which was filled with unauthorised travellers.
In the post, the user mentioned that the problem started after the train departed from Ahmedabad
Junction. The user recounted how his family faced significant problems as random ticketless individuals
occupied their reserved seats and crowded the aisles, making it difficult for them to find a place to sit.
The user then reached out for help, tagging Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Indian Railways in his post. The
user sought assistance in resolving the situation.
Railway Seva, the official customer care account of the Indian Railways, acknowledged the post,
indicating that steps would be taken to address the issue and ensure the safety and comfort of
passengers.
However, people were not convinced. With over 1.3 million views on the post, many pointed out that
incidents of such ticketless passengers forcefully claiming seats had increased in number. The issue is
not limited to sleeper coaches and instances were recorded and shared by passengers from AC
compartments as well.
