Class 10 Board exams : TN records 91.39 pass percentage, Girls outperform boys

Tamil Nadu recorded a pass percentage of 91.55 for the academic year 2023-24, slightly higher than last year’s percentage of 91.39.

Among 38 districts, Ariyalur district recorded the highest percentage in the State with 97.31 %. Further down the list, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram district recorded 97.02 % pass percent and 96.02 % pass percent respectively.

As per data, across the State, 4,105 schools recorded full pass percentage, of which 1,364 schools are govt schools.

Schools under the Tribal welfare department recorded 92.45%, the highest among schools under other departments. This was followed by Kallar schools (91.75%) and forest (90.91%). As far as prison inmates are concerned, out of 260 appearing for the exam, 228 inmates passed the exam, securing 87.69 percent.

Girls outperform boys

Girls have outshone boys in the Class 10 results declared by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government examinations here on Friday The overall pass percentage for this year is 91.55.

While 4,22,000 (94.53 per cent) girls cleared the examination, the number of boys who passed the examinations stood at 3,96,000 (88.58 per cent).

Eight students scored centum in Tamil, 415 in English and 20,691 students got full marks in Mathematics.

A total of 13,510 students with a disability appeared for the examination out of which 12,491 passed the exam taking the pass percentage of students with disabilities to 92.45.

Out of the 260 prisoners, who took the Class 10 examinations, 228 cleared, recording a pass percentage of 87.69.
