Narayani Vidyashram students excel in talent competitions

Dr. Ravi Chaturvedi

“The profound influence of art is eloquently captured by Leo Buscaglia, who asserted, ‘Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.’ Within the hallowed halls of Narayani Vidyashram, the students’ talents are regarded as divine endowments from the hamlet of Malaikodi’s Divine Narayani. Recognizing talent as an inherent, untaught prowess, the essence lies in acknowledging and harnessing one’s aptitude. A call to introspection beckons individuals to unveil their latent gifts.

The stewardship of Sri Narayani Vidyashram, under the sagacious guidance of Divine Narayani and the adept leadership of Director Dr. M Suresh Babu, along with the trustees of Sripuram Golden Temple, ensures a seamless orchestration of educational endeavors. Recently, the institution hosted two innovative programs, the Talent Expo and Vellore District-level drawing competition, from Grade I to IX, underscoring the commitment to holistic development.

The events were inaugurated with grace by N. Koteswaran, additional superintendent of police, Vellore, and Dr. M. Suresh Babu, the trustee and director of Golden Temple. Dr. S. Ramesh, the chief mentor, extended a warm welcome, while Subramani, Principal of the matriculation wing, conducted the drawing competition with commendable competence. Lakshmi, principal of Sri Narayani Vidyashram, expressed gratitude, and overall coordination was meticulously handled by Aadhikesavan, administrative officer.

The district-level drawing contest, featuring over 350 participants, covered diverse themes such as animals, national leaders, cartoon characters, fruits, natural scenery, environmental consciousness, and the vision of an ideal school. The talent expo, spanning Montessori to 11th grade, showcased drawings, models, charts, miniatures, and working models in over 15 rooms, captivating visitors, parents, and the chief guest alike.

The competition, a resounding success, offered cash awards of Rs. 4,000, Rs. 3,000, and Rs. 2,000 for the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. The diverse subjects covered in the expo, ranging from science and social sciences to robotics, artificial intelligence, languages, history, and cultural exhibits, reflected the multifaceted talents of the students. As Henri Amiel, the Swiss poet, and philosopher wisely observed, “Doing easily what others find difficult is talent; doing what is impossible with talent is genius.” The artistic endeavours showcased during the event bear testimony to the students’ class and caliber, demonstrating the fusion of talent and genius within the nurturing confines of Narayani Vidyashram.”
